Conversation Comparing Two Online Products: $5 and $50,000, Part II

Sean: Theoretically, but not at $5, most people won't take the time to ask for a refund on a $5 product.

If we looked at a $40 product versus a few $100, you might see that. But the idea is correct, but actually on the $5 product you get a very very low number of refunds. I tell you what you do get a lot of on $5 products. Actually my lowest product was $10 consistently when I first got started, but I didn't get many refunds. What I did get was people that didn't know people that didn't know how to open a pdf, like they didn't have adobe on their computer. They didn't know how to do a pay pal transaction. I mean I'd get e-mails every single day, angry e-mails, saying I paid for this and I never got it. And when I sell a $300 product I hardly ever get that because the person who buys a $300 product is more savvy, they're more internet savvy. Maybe not savvy altogether, but more internet savvy. They're going to be a better customer than the person whose willing to spend, whose willing on any kind of repetitive basis, to spend$10.

Let's look at the other half of the list, the 500 people who came into your list and the first thing they saw was a $50,000 product. Let's brainstorm. What's the demographic of this person going to be? Obviously you're probably not going to make one sale per 500, it might be one sale per 10,000. So we're obviously not looking at the average buyer . Let's just look at the demographic of the person whose going to stay on your list after being hit by a $50,000 product. Let's just look at the demographic of the person who is going to stay on your list. Let's brainstorm. The field is open for you guys.

Caller: Some other authority that's making money on line and they want to learn new things to take them to a higher level.

Sean: Yes. Absolutely. If somebody's making $10,000 a month on line already and they want to go $100,000 a month, they're not going to be too thrown off. I mean obviously $50,000 is a lot of money.

A lot of money. But that person is going to react differently to that particular product than they are...I mean if you're making $10,000 a month on line, you can't really learn anything from a $10 e-book. I mean if the information is worth very much at all, it doesn't stay $10 very long. Any other comments on the demographics of this person that stays on the list after being hit with another $50,000 ticket?

Caller: They'd be loyal.

Sean: Okay. What else?

Caller: They'd also work hard

Sean: Yes, what else?

Caller: Somebody with a big dream.
