A product funnel is basically this idea where, the traditional idea, you bring a large number of people into your website through either a free gift or a low priced item. Once they've bought that, you introduce them to a higher priced item and on and on and on. You're just ultra-qualifying people all the way up. That's a very traditional product funnel.
However, there's one fatal flaw with that particular product funnel and that is the person who will buy a $5000 product from you or a $50,000 product from you or maybe even a $1000 product from you is not the same person who will buy a $10 e-book from you. Which means if you're building your funnel starting with a $5 or $10 product, you're probably never going to sell those people a higher priced product because the person that will spend....
In fact, just to give you an idea, just today I was on the phone with somebody ad we had a nice conversation. I spent about 45 minutes with them. I had some questions for them and they were attempting to sell me some coaching product. Now I was expecting a product with a price of about $3000 to $5000 for everything they claimed they were able to do for me in like a ten week class. They told me the price and it was $350 for that whole thing.
As soon as they told me the price, I decided I wasn't buying it. Why wasn't I buying it? Because there was no way I only wanted $350 worth of material. Because if I was going to spend ten hours on this class, spend $350, it's not worth my time. I can make more money in those same ten hours on something else. If they're only going to give me #350 worth of material and ten hours, I don't want to have anything to do with them. That's the problem when you start out with that low-priced item.
