When you add in a level of personal involvement, then when somebody gets to that say third step and they’re stuck, and say it’s the second week in the group coaching teleseminar series, they’re able to raise their hand and say, “I’ve got a real problem with XYZ. I really need help. Can you tell me what I need to do?”
Then you are able to say, “Yeah, this is what you do…1, 2, 3,” then they go out and do it, and the next week they’re ready for the next step.
Another thing that you’ll often add in addition to the group coaching is that you’ll add in some type of accountability. You’ll have some type of accountability. Perhaps at the end of each one of these group lessons you’ll give some kind of homework.
Here is another example. Imagine you’re in personal growth so maybe you have a 10-step system – and if you don’t, when we get done with you you will – you’ll have this 10-step process for going from where you’re at to where you can be with your relationships and success financially on the internet, everything that you teach, Gail.
Then whatever that first step is, at the end of your first class you’re going to give somebody some homework. There’s some accountability there. When they come back next week they need to have that done.
So what happens is with this accountability people are forced to do the things that they’ve signed up to. Then at the end of that 8-week period or 6-week period or whatever it is, at the end of it they’ll actually take something out of it.
If somebody just sits down and listens to a DVD series, they might have every intention – and honestly, if somebody spends $1,000 there’s a lot of intention there – but the thing is a lot of times they’ll watch the DVDs, they’ll listen to the CDs, and although there’s that intention they just never make it into action.
When people are willing to spend on higher tickets, then oftentimes if you can force them into action then it’s worth every penny to them and even more, because at the end they get something out of it.
That right there, what I’ve just described to you, in terms of the action, in terms of being able to get people to see results in their own lives – for example, Jim, you might sell $1,000 DVD series that teaches somebody to build a $250,000 eBay business and the average person, although all the information is in there for them to do it, they don’t take action and doesn’t get to $250,000 per year, for example.
I don’t know what your numbers are and I’m just throwing that out as an example, but if you had them in a $5,000 class, then just spending $5,000 with you will make them work harder.
