The more I flesh this out, the more we talk about it, the more I think about it and ramble on about it, I would probably lean more towards finding very highly-qualified individuals working from some outline so that we know exactly what they’re going to cover, and then I would let them roll with it and let them do the actual teaching.
Does that make sense?
Caller: Yes, and then you would record those?
Sean: Oh, great question, Gail. I completely haven’t mentioned that at all.
Folks, any time you do something like this, definitely record it. There’s two reasons why you want to record everything. There’s three reasons, and if we kept going we could come up with 1,000 reasons.
1. The first reason that you would record would be so that you can offer the recording to the people in the class.
What’s going to happen is if you set up the class for 8 lessons in a row, inevitably some of the people in the class are not going to be able to make one of the meetings. One of your students can’t make meeting 3. One of your students can’t make meeting 5, etc.
By recording the meetings, they can go back in and they can listen to everything that you’ve recorded and they can get the lessons just as if they were there. That would be the #1 reason.
2. The second reason why you want to record it is if you go ahead and do this program, you’ve sold it for $5,000 interactive, so if you record this entire thing, all 8 of the lessons, if you record everything from top to bottom and you keep good track of all the lessons that you’ve given and all the instructions that you’ve given, you can easily package this thing together and then sell it as a stand-alone product.
It would obviously be for some lower price – well, maybe not even obviously. If you’ve set this product up and it delivers incredibly well and it doesn’t really need as much one-on-one, you could either sell this product in its finished form, completely recorded, for the same price and then maybe throw in 2-3 hours of some group time or some one-on-one time where you could answer questions for people, or you can take this product in its recorded form and sell it at some discount, say $2,500 or $3,500 or something like that.
Obviously the marketing point in this is – “We did this for 8 weeks, it’s an incredible class, 10 people paid $5,000 apiece to be in this class. For some reason you couldn’t make it to the class. Maybe you couldn’t afford $5,000, maybe it was bad timing, Tuesday nights were just bad for you, etc, but now I’m making it available to you at a little bit of a discount, say $3,500 or $2,500, and then you can study it at your own pace.”
Does that make sense there?
