So we’d be giving away a total of 40% to the people who are producing the program for us, and then we’re keeping 60% since we’re the person organizing it. That’s probably not an unfair way to do it, would you agree?

Caller: I think an expert would expect more than that.

Sean: You may be right. I’m looking at it from your perspective. Are you willing to take say 60% for doing all of the hard work of setting it up?

Caller: Oh yeah.

Sean: Now let’s look at the 5% to each person. 5% to each person would be $250. Let’s say you put 10 people in the class so you pay them 5% of $5,000 on 10 people, so you’ve be paying them $2500 for doing a 1-hour class, and let’s say you ask them if they’ll make themselves available on some limited basis – maybe a maximum of 30 minutes per individual – for one-on-one time, or maybe they would set up one alternate time during the week where it would be a Q&A session.

If we did the Q&A session, then there would be a total of 2 hours invested on John’s part for $2,500, so his income would be $1,250 per hour. Now obviously there’s people out there who won’t work for $1,250 per hour, but let’s ask this question – would many individuals who are earning $20,000 a month be willing to work for $1,250 per hour?

Caller: I don’t think so.

Sean: Let’s say they’re working full time, 40 hours a week – if we do 4 weeks they’re making $5,000 a week, and if they work 40 hours a week at $5,000 they’re earning $125 per hour.

You don’t believe they would accept $1,250 per hour for two hours of work?

Caller: Oh, I’m sorry – I didn’t understand the question. Ok, yes.

Sean: Ok, that’s fine. We could structure it a different way and say they didn’t do the group Q&A. They could say they’ll give everybody a ½ hour of one-on-one time, so with 10 people that would be 5 hours of time, so they’d have a total of 6 hours invested into $2,500. They’d still be at $400 an hour.
